He woke before the rest of us.
He made his own breakfast without asking help from any of us.
Ginger ale, the can crushed from trying to pry it open. He takes the time to pour it in a cup — his favorite color. Sour cream, tortia shell. Notice the upside down box of Grape Nuts in the background.
I think he’s ready for college.

No no no, he’s ready for adulthood. College life, no waking up before noon and when you do wake up, you don’t make your own ginger ale. You just pick up the phone and order pizza and coke. And then you go to sleep again.
