A Perfect Post

The Original Perfect Post Awards - Oct I nominated Whee! All The Way Home for a perfect Post Award for her post, A Mother’s Fears. This is the first time I’ve ever nominated something to the list so dutifully prepared by Lindsay and Kimberly each month. When I read Patios’ beautiful post, I knew she had captured what goes through just about every Mother’s mind, when we have given birth to children that we love more than life itself, and we realize we can’t do it alone. Our nightly prayers are a comforting ritual and gives us a sense that we are not doing it alone, and that when there is nothing left for us to do, there is still something we can do. And, I love how she uses the words in her post to show how these prayers are evolutionary, carrying us through all the different stages of motherhood, as our children continue to grow.

While at the lake, WiFi is seriously lacking in my life... I can't wait to read your comments.
  1. The first one is not the miracle - not in so far as how unprepared we are for our feelings - the love, the overwhelming love that we feel - and the fear - my god the fear - who knew that something the size of a grain of rice growing within a woman could bring us to our knees in the time it takes for rose petals to fall from the vase and hit the floor -

But the fact that we are willing, after finding that the summation of our being is now a small and uncontrollable ball of life, to have another one, and another, and another, now that is a miracle.

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve not won many awards, so it’s nice just for that fact. But the fact that it’s a Perfect Post Award? That’s so extra special. Thank you.

  3. Great choice! I love her blog.

  4. I had to click over and read it. I completely agree! A Perfect Post. It certainly rings true with me.
