Oh, my, what a lovely story.I especially loved how personal the clues were to your family. I have done things just like that, down to the melting pot! (BTW…it wasn’t a scavenger hunt. It was a treasure hunt. A scavenger hunt is one in which you have a list of things to collect from around a selected area, and the first person or team to get all the things on the list, wins.)

Oh my, I can just imagine (actually remember) the smell! We use to be in the habit of putting birthday cakes in the cold oven to store them overnight because they were too big for the microwave or any where else. Doug forgot once and preheated the oven…….between the smell of the icing getting browned and the plastic container………it was not a good thing! Needless to say we do not put things in the oven anymore! By the way I am making the guinness cake today. Our son-in-law loves guinness so I thought I would make it for his birthday. Yes, we have a son-in-law – Miranda got married last October.
