How About a Brandy Cordial for Father’s Day?

Here’s something you can make for Dad that he, and his Dr., will love — and it will not collect dust on his dresser. brandy.jpg “Heartthrob Cordial” could make a great Father’s Day Present for the man who has everything. And the combination of herbs is actually good for the heart, according to Kathleen Brown. So not only does it taste good, but it’s a gift for good health.

  • 1 part rose hips
  • 1 part raspberries (frozen is fine)
  • 1 part hawthorn berries (Whole Foods should have it)
  • Brandy
  1. Cover herbs with three times as much brandy in a wide mouthed jar, and cap tightly.
  2. Shake daily for two to three weeks.
  3. Strain, sweeten a little bit with honey, and put in a cool looking jar.
  4. Take 1-2 tablespoons per day.
