The Secret, Diet Soda, and $1,000,000
If you drink diet soft drinks, it means your overweight. I don’t want to offend anyone — that was just what I thought when I was a little girl. The people I saw drinking diet soft drinks were overweight — always. I was suspicious — I figured that the drink company put something in the drink to keep people overweight, so that they’d have to keep drinking it. To this day, I still don’t like the taste of diet soft drinks.
In fact, after watching The Secret, I know I was right. Based on the law of attraction — you get what you focus on. So, seeing the word “diet” attracts the drinker to always think diet — hence to always need to diet. Diet forever… or as long as you drink diet.
Despite all the people who do complain about the movie, The Secret, does a terrific job of collecting all of the new-age Quantum Physics
theories, and compiling them in one source.
If you take anything away from the film, let it be this: You get more of what you focus on. If you complain about your co-workers, you get more things to complain about. If you focus on getting out of debt — you get more debt. You drink diet drinks — you get, well you know. (Try water.)

I had a friend who told me, when I stopped breastfeeding to go back to work, that if I wanted to continue breastfeeding after going back to work, I could and that I was making the choice not to. I was so mad at her! How dare she say that! But over the years I have come to realize - yes, absolutely - almost everything in my life is a choice and like you said, once you realize that - you do feel a tremendous sense of power. It also is good because it gets me to quite whining about things that, yes, I have a choice about.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Maybe then, that is what you wanted.
