Pain straight: Hold the Vodka

I can handle painI’ve given birth twice without ANY drugs, and I’ve had two c-sections, and left the hospital and DID NOT fill my percocet script.
However, when I had the biopsy taken from my upper lip, I was sick for a day, just from the pain. Yes, they numbed it, but that’s what hurt, just kept coming in waves. So, now that the biopsy confirmed Basal Cell Carinoma, I get to go back and have more removed. I looked the nurse directly in the eye, and said, the shot really hurt. Is there something I can take before I come to help numb the pain — like maybe, Vodka?
She didn’t even answer me. Then after a pause, she slowly said, you can take tylenol, but not asprin, as it can make you bleed top much. So think about me tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., and then for several hours after that, while they continue to cut and biopsy until it’s all gone. Did you know Vodka makes removing a bandage painless? More tips here at www.asthebarturns. And that Vodka’s “chameleonic nature” makes it ideal for mixing? Recipes, here.

While at the lake, WiFi is seriously lacking in my life... I can't wait to read your comments.
  1. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. Vodka AFTER seems like a good plan.

  2. [...] Rest. Despite all the research I collected about How Not to Catch a Cold, two of my little ones got one. I’m busy nursing them, and will give you an update on the surgery later. I have some old-fashioned, unusual, but effective, methods for treating the common cold. Some were handed down from my Grandma, others from books. Ancient Healing Secrets I will not cover all of the remedies in this one post. I can’t write that much in one day because of my real job, as a Mom. So, I’ll spread them out over the next couple of weeks. But, here’s a piece of advice. Print these out, and hang them on the inside of your medicine chest. These remedies are hard to remember at 2 a.m., and most require that you act fast, and aren’t as effective if you wait, and the symptoms get worse. [...]

  3. [...] I was there to have my stitches removed – it looks good they tell me. Three boys were with me through this procedure, and they mercifully behaved themselves through the very long wait. Except for the embarrassing trail of mud crumbs that fell off their shoes onto the white floor of the examining room, all was well. [...]

  4. thanks for mentioning me in your story hope everything turns out good for you.
