Would you like to be interviewed for a magazine article?
I’m researching an article for a magazine (I’ll let you know, but for now it’s a secret), and I’m looking for experiences people have had with hiring boy babysitters. Good or bad. If you didn’t hire boy babysitters, why not? Let me know in the comments section, or hit, contact me.
Thanks,
Susie

I haven’t ever hired a boy babysitter, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t… There just haven’t been any boys within my circle of friends and acquaintances who’ve expressed an interest in babysitting.
I’ve never even heard of a boy babysitter, around here. I don’t think I’d be opposed to it, but I would be a little surprised if one turned up.
We don’t use babysitters from outside of the family much but one person I’d trust with my kids is my dh’s younger brother. He’s now 30 but even when he was much younger he was great with kids. Probably comes from having 8 siblings and countless nieces and nephews.
I’m all for equal opportunity employment when it comes to babysitters. Our next door neighbor’s boys — now 15 and 13 — have hung out with the kids for two hours or so at a time. Since my eldest is 11, we call it “hanging out” instead of babysitting. In general, though, we don’t go out much at all, so I doubt I’d be a worthwhile source for your article.
