I think you bag idea is genuis! If you can manage to transport them, along with everything else that needs to go to the lake I think they'll be fine. The beauty of the paper bags is that you can just dig a hole big enough for them, and drop them in. The paper will disintegrate, and you won't have to disturb the roots when transplanting!
