Cereal: The Ultimate After-School Snack

While cereal with milk is the perfect, ready-in-seconds go-to breakfast, this meal sometimes makes it rounds again as an after-school snack. Each bowl is full of calcium, vitamins and nutrients. It’s the perfectly-contained snack-in-a-bowl, as the kids can pour their own, into a portion that satisfies the after-school hunger pangs with little mess and fuss.
I’ve even been known to pull out a bowl of cereal for myself, after the kids have gone to bed, and my stomach is growling, and I still have miles of chores to go before I sleep. It’s the best, and healthiest way I know to calm late-night hunger cravings.

    Our favorite food in a bowl changes by the day. Tonight it’s beef stew. Last night it was hearty chili. Night before last it was my awesome macaroni and cheese.

    My favorite meal in a bowl is my home-made chili with toppings like shredded cheese, chopped onions, jalapeno slices and a few tortilla chips! I serve it for dinner the first time and serve left-overs for lunch the next day!

    I love a hot & hearty homemade stew or bowl of chili or beans on a cold, wet, day like today. If I want something cold in a bowl, I choose Kellogg’s Bran Flakes or yogurt with fruit. On Sunday nights, we eat popcorn in a bowl for dinner. We have a lot of favorites, I guess. Thanks for the giveaway.

    Chili…I make mine with sliced carrots inside it and serve it with sliced rye bread and butter…in the winter, I make it at least once a week. It’s even better the 2nd day.

    My Favorite would be Stir Fry with rice! I love Chicken Livers! lol Normally I will marinade Chicken liver in terriaki sauce with garlic, onions and peppers cook them low and slow then placing them over rice! I prefer my things to be mixed esp the juices! Being in a bowl it makes it easier to move the flavor all around!
