Parents like that will never know because they don’t want to. It’s easier to be in the dark than admit that you’ve not been a good parent.

That DOES sound like a terrific, sensible parenting book. Too many parents are worried about being their kids’ friends and neglect the whole parenting part of the gig…

I’m afraid my brother and sister-in-law are on their way to parenting much like Roxanne’s mother…heads in the sand, with holding valuable information about sex and mature decisions and trust. I think I’ll send them this book you recommend. At the worst, they can be very offended at my suggestion that they need help and, in the best case scenario, they read it and learn something and adjust before one of their daughters becomes a teen parent.
