I can handle pain — I’ve given birth twice without drugs, and I’ve had two c-sections, and left the hospital and DID NOT fill my percocet script.
However, when I had the biopsy taken from my upper lip, I was sick for a day, just from the pain. The pain just kept coming in waves. So, now that the biopsy confirmed Basal Cell Carcinoma, I get to go back and have more removed.
At my pre-op visit today, I looked the nurse directly in the eye, and said, “the shot really hurt. Is there something I can take before I come to help numb the pain — like maybe, vodka?”
She didn’t even answer me. Then after a pause, she slowly said, you can take Tylenol, but not aspirin, as it can make you bleed top much.
Tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., and then for several hours after that, they will cut and biopsy until all traces of the cancer is gone.

I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. Vodka AFTER seems like a good plan.
thanks for mentioning me in your story hope everything turns out good for you.
